Rupert Newman
Rupert is the Head of Broking for Miller’s M&A and Strategic Solutions team. He has advised on hundreds of transactions ranging in value from £10m to £8bn across a broad range of sectors and territories. He has a proven track record of delivering insurance programmes for large and complex auction processes and routinely advises clients on ways to use insurance capital outside of the traditional transactional risk landscape.
Rupert started his career at Marsh, where he led the African and BeNeLux offering, before spending 4 and half years at Paragon, where he was also involved in product development and expansion of the team’s presence in the North of England.
Rupert spends his time in both London and Amsterdam where he delivers lectures at the Vrije University on W&I insurance to corporate lawyers and general counsel participating in the M&A master’s programme.
Rupert has a first class honours degree in Biomedical Sciences from Newcastle University.
As an avid cook and traveller, Rupert can often be found either with his head in a recipe book, browsing food blogs or plotting weekends away to foodie hot-spots. He is the proud father of Dora the Whippet.
