Areas of coverage

Professional Indemnity (PI)

Professional Indemnity insurance protects a company against legal costs and damages arising from an alleged or actual act, omission or breach of professional duty towards third parties.

With a 30+ strong team of professional indemnity specialists, we work hard on your behalf and leverage our relationships with A-rated insurers consistently to negotiate better premium terms on your behalf.

Cyber

Cyber insurance provides cover for liability to third parties, arising out of a security breach and a privacy breach. It also typically covers breach response providers, granting you immediate access to IT forensic security consultants, legal and regulatory advisors, as well as crisis management/public relations firms.

Facilitated by a Miller-led gap analysis, we work with clients to identify key exposures, advise on mitigation options and design bespoke cyber insurance programmes that deliver.

Miller has also partnered with CyberCube to enhance clients’ ability to make data-driven decisions when purchasing cyber insurance. This multi-disciplinary platform integrates third party data to advise accurately on suitable limits to purchase.

Directors’ & Officers’ liability (D&O)

D&O insurance is an essential consideration for professional services firms. It provides liability cover for company senior managers to protect them from claims arising from the decisions and actions taken within the scope of their regular duties. Indemnity is intended to provide cover for senior managers who are required to defend themselves in the event of an accusation of wrongdoing.

Coverage includes current, future and past directors and officers of a company and that company’s subsidiaries. It does not, however, include cover for fraudulent, criminal or intentional non-compliant acts or situations where directors have obtained illegal remuneration, or acted for personal profit.

Crime

Crime insurance protects a business against theft, fraud and dishonesty committed internally and/or externally, potentially providing cover for counterfeit or forgery, monetary theft of a business’ own funds, and fraud (including electronic fraud) committed by an employee or a third party.

In addition, most policies have access to investigative experts in the event of an incident, who assist in establishing the size of the loss, determining the cause of the loss and advising on preventative measures to reduce the likelihood of an event reoccurring.
