Our North American team continues to grow with the addition of three seasoned professionals that specialise in construction, energy construction and delegated underwriting authority business.

Ian Curtin 

Ian recently joined Miller to lead its energy construction team, bringing a wealth of expertise across all aspects of insurance for the Offshore and Onshore Oil & Gas industry.
Ian has decades of experience across a broad spectrum of energy risks, with a particular specialism in construction. During his career at Sedgwick, Heath, Lockton, Alexander Forbes and Marsh; Ian has handled many of the world’s largest and most innovative energy projects. 

As Head of Energy Construction at Miller, Ian works closely with the Onshore and Upstream Energy teams in London to develop business for both offshore and onshore construction projects, as well as upstream, midstream and downstream energy operational business.

Andrew Clydesdale

Andrew recently joined Miller to work alongside Ian Curtin in our construction practice. With nearly 20 years of experience as a lead construction underwriter in both Lloyd’s and company markets; Andrew will be utilising his expertise to design programmes and bespoke policy forms for builders risk, contractors annual and contractor’s plant and equipment programmes. 

Andrew had a reputation as a lead underwriter who would work with clients to devise insurance solutions for tricky engineering focussed risks that span the infrastructure, energy and civil construction sectors; and he will continue to use those skills to provide service for Miller’s clients. 

Andrew started his career in 1995 as an engineer in the onshore liquefied gas industry, before moving into the insurance industry in 2001 with Munich Re where he wrote all sectors of construction and operational power.

Michael Lee

Michael brings a wealth of specialist knowledge in North American binding authorities and property & casualty to Miller. Michael works alongside Richard Boughton, Miller’s Head of North American MGA Property, and the wider MGA team.

Michael started his insurance career in 1998, previously working at various insurance companies and brokers.
