John is responsible for commercial strategic planning and implementation at Miller. He also leads Miller’s strategic development of business from North American intermediaries, overseeing co-ordination of all resources to deliver the highest possible service levels. 

His philosophy is that the insurance market should be aligned with the risk mitigation needs of commerce. To this end he has been heavily involved with the development of insurance products such as Trade Disruption Insurance for Supply Chain risks, ‘007’ for terrorism by secret agents, War on Land, Reputational risk and most recently Active Assailant coverage. 

Since starting his insurance career in 1981, John has built a broad knowledge of insurance products and markets. Experience includes extensive worldwide travel working with clients on accounts ranging from Global 500 business to start up MGAs.

John is a member of the Lloyd's North American Advisory Council, a former Chairman of the CIAB International Working Group and Co-Chair of the Lloyd’s Broker Academy Working Group.
