What you’ll do:
We have an excellent broking opportunity for an Insurance Specialist Business Analyst to join Miller in our Technology, Data and Innovation team. You will be Responsible for developing requirements and prioritising the product backlog and working closely with the Product Manger and Business Owners to contribute towards the product vision and roadmap.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis to build shared understanding between the business and the team on deadlines, requirements and outcomes. Document current and future-state business processes.
- Gather information and requirements from the business and define process improvements, ensuring solutions are designed for optimal business performance, developed efficiently, and maintain technical quality.
- Work collaboratively with the Product Manager to understand product strategy and define the roadmap.
- Ensure each user story or epic can be linked to the wider Miller strategy and supporting Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Help elaborate initiatives and features into user stories that are granular enough to be delivered within a single sprint.
- Build commercial acumen within the team so they understand the “why” behind each initiative, feature and story, focusing on solving user problems while keeping the bigger picture in view.
- Work with the team to develop, refine and prioritise features and user stories on the backlog, ensuring stories have robust acceptance criteria and are focused on maximising business value.
- Build and maintain development team backlogs, and take an active role in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, planning sessions, retrospectives and sprint reviews.
- Coordinate and take an active role in testing new and existing systems to ensure they deliver agreed user value. Work as part of the development team to successfully deliver initiatives and features based on agreed OKRs.
- Work closely with software developers and testers throughout the development process to ensure they remain on track and have the support they need to deliver business priorities in the right order.
- Adhere to Miller’s policies, procedures, training, systems and controls, and ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory and financial crime requirements.
- Comply with all external rules and requirements relevant to the role, including Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
- Promote Miller’s brand and values to strengthen the firm’s reputation in the market.
