Phil Limb, Co-Lead for CLC clients, shares how Miller has stepped up over the past two years - enhancing service, strengthening relationships, and delivering on its promises to CLC firms. And this, he says, is just the beginning of a new standard CLC clients can expect from Miller.
At first glance you might not think there’s a lot of similarity between the work life of a conveyancer and an insurance broker; but in our view, we are both committed to a shared goal of stress free, fantastic service, that makes a difference to the clients we are working with.
Both roles are clearly busy throughout the year with work spikes at key points in the year. For conveyancers those take the form of cliffhanger SDLT changes, bank holidays and Christmas completions, compared to the peaks we face around the fixed CLC renewal date and popular SRA quarter end renewals in March and September.
In both instances our clients are dealing with a large purchase, of significant importance. This means that responsiveness and regular, clear communication underpin both our abilities to provide a cost-effective, stress-free outcome.
For all these reasons and more, we decided it was time to enhance our service proposition.
We've invested in our team. Firms renewing in June are assisted by a core team of 14 individuals who collectively hold 100's of years of insurance experience. And from a wealth of backgrounds – ex-underwriters who understand how premiums are calculated; life-long specialist brokers who can help clients showcase their firms; a qualified Solicitor who focuses on Risk Management as well as claims advocates with decades of experience of negotiating and resolving claims hiccups.
Renewing made easy
Many of our clients are offered the chance to renew their policies well ahead of time, without needing to complete a proposal form. There are no last-minute worries or anxious waits to see what stance their insurer, Chubb, will be taking and there’s plenty of time to organise payment and issue policy documents long before the lender panel chasers begin in earnest.
For those completing a proposal form, communications started in February, and we’re committed to meeting the CLC deadlines around issuing quotes. We work hard to ensure that no firm is waiting for their renewal terms at the end of June, unless that is their preference.
As a team, we work with law firms year-round, so we understand the latest claims trends and areas of concern. We draw on that knowledge when checking renewal details and proactively consider what additional information could make a difference to the premiums paid.
Every client has contact details for direct access to at least three named contact points, so help is always at the end of the phone or an email, throughout the year, even during our peak periods.
Irrespective of who a client chooses to call, our focus is unwavering – offer competitive insurance from an insurer who has a longstanding connection and commitment to the CLC community, backed up by great service and innovative ideas.
As we enter another CLC renewal season, Miller is on hand and ready to deliver for our clients and new firms looking for insurance."
