I had no hesitation in applying to Miller. It’s a dynamic and adaptable business that is looking and moving forwards in a very positive manner.

Prior to joining Miller in January 2020, I was very familiar with the company. I have always worked in insurance, and knew Miller’s people were extremely positive about the company and how it does things. When I heard about this position and the opportunity to get involved in a number of areas that appeal to me, I did not hesitate to apply.

Despite running cross functional teams, my background has always been Credit Control and I started my career as a trainee at Willis Towers Watson in the Reinsurance division. My first role in Credit Control involved handling UK based ledgers, before moving on to international accounts. I enjoyed learning how and why the insurance market works, and so – as I gained more experience – I also got involved in more projects, such as learning technical processing of Reinsurance Pro Rata Treaty business, leading the implementation of a new processing platform, and working with corporate legal department to bring Operational expertise to complex litigation.

I am very impressed by Miller’s approach to flexible and agile working.

Credit Control has touchpoints with all parts of the business, and I work with my colleagues to help build relationships, seek feedback on potential improvements, and offer my experience.

Implementing change, seeing things come to fruition as expected, and developing others is a great part of my job. Miller is an environment that advocates finding better ways of doing things, of developing its people, and continually improving the service we offer to our clients.

The culture at Miller feels very inclusive, and the communications that come at all levels support this inclusivity.

I am very impressed by Miller’s approach to flexible and agile working. Even prior to the Covid situation which forced home working, a number of members of Credit Control had embraced remote working, without it impacting our work or the business at all! There are a number of Wellbeing tools available to colleagues, and HR are very supportive in offering further information or guidance.

If you are considering applying to Miller, I really encourage you to go for it and embrace the opportunities that will arise with both hands!
