Robert is a senior member of Miller’s marine hull team, which arranges a diverse and often innovative range of marine insurance, working both directly with shipping companies and through local brokers and insurers.
The team accesses the London and international insurance markets to provide cover for all types of vessels involved in the maritime trade.
In addition to his involvement in the operational aspects of the hull team, Robert is responsible for accounts emanating from a number of regions, including Europe (principally Denmark and Greece), India and South East Asia.
Robert joined Miller in 1985 and has worked here ever since. During the early 1990s he spent some time in Greece developing his knowledge of that market and gaining a much broader understanding of the shipping industry (whilst there he also learned to read and write Greek). He has lectured at the Galbraith’s Shipping Course, talked at seminars, written reports and had an article published in the Asia Insurance Review.
Robert is qualified as a Chartered Insurance Broker and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).
Robert is married and has a teenage son and a yellow Labrador. He enjoys cricket and rugby (although these days only as a spectator) and is a member of the Worshipful Company of Curriers – one of London’s ancient Livery Companies that is these days involved in charitable work.
