The product manager is responsible for ensuring that products and services are properly managed, planned and operate in a controlled manner.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the leadership and relationship management discussion about the shape and contents of their product portfolio.
- Manage the long-term roadmap, involving sales, marketing, implementations, clients, prospects, partners, and other groups.
- Define the nature and scope of the products and services.
- Define the customers for products and services and establish their characteristics as buyers and users.
- Define the value proposition and service levels
- Analyse and communicate the competitive positioning of the service (for example, why the IT organization is best qualified to deliver the service), and provide recommendations on how the service should be sourced.
- Work with financial analytical support, analyse the costs associated with delivering the service and identifying opportunities for improvement. This can extend to include profit and loss analysis.
- Define a cost allocation, cost recovery and pricing plan within the overall context of the chargeback or pricing model.
- Define and establish the measures of service quality and value.
- Monitor the end-to-end performance of the service, identifying any persistent problems.
- Regularly create a service improvement plan.
- Work with other planning roles, relationship managers and capacity planners to forecast demand.
- Provide line management for a delivery team
- Manage the performance of direct reports ensuring staff have clear objectives, regular PDRs and receive feedback on performance
- Provide leadership, management, and motivation of direct reports; develop the skills, competencies and knowledge of direct reports
- Adhere to and meet fully the expectations of Miller, as set out in its policies and procedures, training material, and embedded in its systems and controls. Our policies and procedures are written to encapsulate the compliance, legal and financial crime related legislation and regulations which apply to Miller.
- Comply with any external rules and requirements imposed on individuals performing their role at Miller, such as Lloyd’s byelaws and FCA rules.
- Promote Miller brand and values to enhance Miller’s reputation in the market
Qualifications
Certified Product Owner or equivalent
Knowledge
- Experienced in defining user requirements, stories, acceptance criteria
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Experience with user testing, gathering and analysing user feedback
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to question, influence and provide opinions and professional recommendations in a clear and constructive manner at all levels of the business
Experience
- Experience in a Product Development role
- Have been working within and practicing Agile/Scrum
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
