We arrange cover for all risks of physical loss or damage to hull and machinery of drilling or construction units and their equipment.

The coverage we place includes:

• Equipment separated from drilling or construction units whilst in storage or in transit
• Medical, repatriation and funeral expenses
• Sue and labour and removal of wreck
• War, strikes, riots and civil commotion, acts of terrorism and political risks
• Equipment in the assured's care, custody and control
• Broad navigating warranties / transit coverage
• Drill stem (drill stem underwater or underground only covered following fire, blowout, cratering or total loss of drilling barge)

The minimum details required to offer a premium indication are as follows:

• Full description of the drilling or construction unit including type (jack-up, semi-submersible, barge, etc), design (eg. Le Tourneau 116C, F&G L-780, etc.) and age
• Value (replacement cost) and daily hire amount
• Five year loss record (with details of deductibles applicable to such losses)
• Operating location and details of any planned moves (distance, conveyance etc.)
• Sight of any recent surveys
• Owners details, including management experience, other operations, maintenance and safety procedures
• Expiring markets, terms and conditions (if available)
