An opportunity has arisen in the Marine division of the Specialty Business Unit for a Technician.


The roles will involve:


  • Reviewing, monitoring and resolving technical questions from XIS and advising Account Handlers
  • Preparing renewal statistics
  • Liaising with accounting departments to ensure timely processing, credit control and resolution of queries
  • Maintaining up to date electronic files for allocated clients
  • Ensuring accurate and timely production of insurance documents
  • Ensuring market documentation is closed in timely manner, making particular note of PPD/Payment Warranty provisions and diarising as appropriate
  • Maintaining electronic diary systems to ensure that files are appropriately progressed
  • Preparing all client documents (cover notes, debit notes, policies, letters of undertaking etc.)
  • Performing assigned responsibilities as delegated by more senior members of the team
The candidate

The ideal candidate will:


  • Have gained strong experience as a Technician, working specifically on Marine Hull accounts
  • Have Lloyd’s processing and XIS experience
  • Experience of using LORS systems
  • Have at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English)
  • Have a good level of proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer
  • Be able to prepare and maintain accurate and precise reports and records
  • Have understanding of relevant insurance laws, the technical aspects of various insurance policies and the fundamentals and procedures of advising on insurance
