Summary

An opportunity has arisen in the Property and Casualty division of the Specialty Business Unit for an experienced Technician.

 

This position will be responsible for providing all aspects of technical assistance to the Business unit and for the supervision of the Property and Casualty post placement processing team.

 

The role will involve:

 

  • Supervising/training the technicians in the post placement team, as required
  • Organising the recording and processing of all premium and paperwork in respect of monthly bordereaux
  • Reviewing, monitoring and resolving of technical questions from within the P&C team
  • Liaising with technical / support / broking and claims functions, to ensure that the client’s interests are maintained
  • Assisting in the provision of reports as required by and appropriate to P&C
  • Maintaining electronic diary system to ensure that files are appropriately progressed
  • Creating client documentation including evidence of covers, debit notes and credit notes in an accurate and timely manner
  • Responsibility for the preparation and submission of London Market Insurance documentation including submission of LPANs and supporting documents to Xchanging
  • Monitoring signings received from Xchanging and resolve queries raised
  • Liaising with the accounting department to ensure timely processing, credit control and resolution of queries
  • Recording and maintaining WIP spreadsheet to track processing position
  • Providing updates and progress reports to management as required
  • Responsibility for the accuracy of data within the post placement team
  • Performing assigned responsibilities as delegated by more senior members of the team
The candidate

The ideal candidate will:

 

  • Have extensive experience as a Technician, specifically with regards to Lloyd’s processing, LORS and XIS
  • Have achieved Cert CII
  • Have some supervisory/management experience
  • Have at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English)
  • Have a good level of proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer
  • Be able to prepare and maintain accurate and precise reports and records
  • Have understanding of relevant insurance laws, the technical aspects of various insurance policies and the fundamentals and procedures of advising on insurance
