Summary

This year we have two internships available; one in our Personal Accident team and the other in our Compliance team. The internships will run at our London office from 23 July – 7 September 2018, beginning with a comprehensive induction programme.

The roles

Personal Accident team

This team focuses on the insurance of people risks including, Accident and Health, Terrorism and Piracy. They have been assisting clients in the prevention, insurance and management of security incidents for over 30 years. With a substantial market share, they are recognised leaders in their field and have representatives in London, Sweden and New York. They provide both in-house security risk management and financial protection solutions to corporations and other organisations.

In 2012, they established Alert:24 to give clients access to Pre-Incident Risk Management and Emergency Crisis Management; Alert 24 is SCR’s response to an evolving international risk environment.

The intern role will involve working alongside the Accident and Health and Alert: 24 teams, assisting with a range projects and the daily work of the teams.

What we are looking for

  • Individuals with strong analytical skills and an interest in:
    • International affairs
    • developing markets and fragile states
    • geopolitical risk
    • security and crisis management consulting
  • You should be on track for a 2.1 degree or above in any degree subject, ideally in your penultimate year at university
  • You should have the right to work in the UK

Compliance team

Compliance sits at the core of Miller, advising and supporting the business to service our clients in line with our regulatory requirements globally. The team is in daily contact with people across the firm, working with all seniority levels.

 

The intern role will involve working alongside the Compliance Policy Officer, assisting with a number of regulatory projects. There is scope within the role for exposure to the wider Compliance team, including Financial Crime, Monitoring and Entity Authorisation. The intern will be responsible for undertaking research and project work as well as assisting with the daily work of the team.

 

What we are looking for

  • Hardworking and enthusiastic individuals interested in a career in the insurance industry
  • You should be on track for a 2.1 degree or above in any degree subject, ideally in your penultimate year at university
  • You should have the right to work in the UK
