Summary

An opportunity has arisen in our Programmes business unit for a Technician to join the team based in Ipswich on a fixed term contract from July 2018 to April 2019.

 

This position will provide prompt, accurate and effective technical administration (and processing) support directly to clients and the business unit.

 

The role will involve:

 

  • Keeping track of impending renewals, providing renewal information to Account Executives in good time to enable terms to be obtained and firm orders placed
  • Liaising with Account Executives to ensure all relevant information is gathered in the preparation of market documentation (Renewals, Endorsements etc) and that it matches the client/markets requirements
  • Liaising with Account Executives to achieve agreement from markets where required and maintaining diary/pending system to monitor progress
  • Accurate and timely production of client documentation (Market Reform Contracts, Evidence of Cover, Policies etc.)
  • Ensuring that market documentation is closed in a timely manner, making particular note of Premium Payment Warranty provisions and contract certainty deadlines and diarising as appropriate
  • Liaising with placement and technical teams to assist the delivery and processing of insurance placements, using the relevant systems
  • Maintaining accurate and concise placing files, using the corporate document management system
  • Organising the recording, processing and payment of premiums, other insurance/non insurance documentation in OpenTwins, including the maintenance of records to monitor 'missing' items
  • The preparation and submission of London Market Insurance documentation including submission of LPANs and supporting documents to Xchanging
  • Reviewing, monitoring and providing resolution to technical questions from clients, markets, credit control, claims and the business unit, to ensure that the client’s best interests are maintained
  • Providing updates and progress reports to management as required
  • Maintaining the diary system to ensure that files are appropriately progressed
  • Monitoring signings received from Xchanging and ensuring timely resolution of queries and settlement of premiums and advise the business as required
  • Performing quality control checks on all documentation
The candidate

Previous experience in insurance is not a requirement.

 

The ideal candidate should:

 

  • Have GCSE Maths and English (at grade C or above) and A Levels (or equivalent).
  • Have a good level of proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer.
  • Be able to prepare and maintain accurate and precise reports and records.
