Claims Technician

An opportunity has arisen in our Programmes business unit for a Claims Technician to join. 

This position will be responsible for supporting a prompt, accurate and efficient claims service to the business unit.

The role will involve:

  • Ensuring a swift response and settlement of claims, whilst constantly reviewing service standards, including setting appropriate priorities
  • Providing documentation for processing and payment of claims
  • Taking action on client’s instructions in a timely manner and communicating pertinent information as necessary
  • Ensuring the secure, efficient and auditable handling of client monies
  • Ensuring prompt resolution of market-related loss issues and queries
  • Maintaining and updating localised in-house systems and using market electronic claim collection and advisory systems
  • Providing assistance when required e.g. by way of figures or other information to Placing & Accounts team
  • Escalating any service related complaints to the Claims Manager to ensure they are addressed promptly and appropriately using the agreed complaints procedure
  • Performing assigned responsibilities as delegated by more senior members of the team
The candidate

The ideal candidate should:

  • Have London market claims experience, ideally with experience in Professional Indemnity
  • Have GCSE Maths and English (at grade C or above) and A Levels (or equivalent).
  • Have a good level of proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Explorer.
  • Be able to prepare and maintain accurate and precise reports and records.
