1st January, Thomas Miller founds Thos. R. Miller & Son (Insurance) to complement the existing partnership of P&I managers.

1951
First order for the reinsurance of International Group of P&I Clubs, an account Miller is still proud to hold over 50 years later.

1970s
Miller diversifies from a specialist marine broker to include wider areas of expertise such as energy and reinsurance.

1989
Miller collects USD400m claim for the Exxon Valdez disaster.

1999
The group is restructured from eight trading companies into one single entity, making it easier to share expertise across the different specialist areas.

2002
The company celebrates 100 years of successful trading with the launch of a new corporate identity and company name: Miller Insurance Services Limited.

2003
The company formalises its relationship with the Bermudian market place, setting up Miller Bermuda Limited.

2004
Miller launches an office in Hong Kong focussing on the design and placement of treaty and facultative reinsurance business, for local insurance and reinsurance companies and selected regional brokers.

2008
A subsidiary office opened in Singapore - Miller Insurance Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
Miller is awarded 'Best Claims Broker' in the Global Broker and Underwriter's London Market Leaders survey.

2009
Our first European branch is opened in Brussels designed to act as a base for the European facultative reinsurance team.

2010
Miller awarded Company of the Year at the Insurance Day London Market Awards 2010 in recognition of the company’s successful strategy of an alternative broking proposition for clients and employees alike.
Miller also received the ‘Best Claims (and Reinsurance Claims) broker for the third year in a row from Global Broker and Underwriter magazine.

2012
Miller reaches its 110th anniversary of trading and expands its limited liability partnership. From 1 May Miller trades as Miller Insurance Services LLP.
